Waggoner Family Thanksgiving '08

Waggoner Family Thanksgiving Day was such a Great Day ...
the sun was shining and warm, and we had a good time visiting (and eating!) ...
and finding out some family news alerts :)
Here's some photos ...

The day before Thanksgiving as we were baking pies, Elyse noticed this on our patio door ... we don't know how the image is there, there's no cross anywhere to reflect ... Elyse snapped the photo. No matter how the image is there, it's All about Jesus, and our Thanksgiving to and for Him!

Kayla and Elyse were my helpers the day before, baking pies, dusting, and I give Thanks for them :)

The first "blog" announcement ...
Pam & Jerry are engaged to be married January 2 ...

She has the ring to prove it ... our prayers for Jerry as he joins our family ! :)

Mema & Papa digging in ...
that's a bite of buttermilk pie on the way to Papa's mouth :)

What's the first thing to do after the Thanksgiving meal?
Search through the Black Friday shopping ads !! :)

... a "father-son" fireside talk?

Papa scanning a map.... wonder if he wants to run away? :)

The next "blog" announcement ...
Quinton & Weston's Tshirts told us ...
They're going to be Big Brothers to a new baby !!!
Woo Hoo!!! Another blessed little one to join us !!!
(check out Kristal's blog to see more info & pics!

Here's the original crew ...
it's always good when we can all be together!

Wyatt thinking "hmmmm, wonder if Ican play with those?" :)

Sage & Kristal ...
never noticed how strong a family resemblance!

Kayla, Sage, Kristal, Elyse
The cool nieces :)
hmmmmm ... maybe the new baby will add another girl to this crew !! :)

& the guys git their guns

later in the evening, a game of Aggravation !

& Sage finds out if she can fill Gene's shoes :)

It was another good family day,
full of turkey and pies and fun,
and we are Blessed, Blessed, Blessed.

What about our country?

This article by Dutch Sheets should be sobering and thought provoking ...
I encourage everyone to read it.

www.dutchsheets.org

And yet, we should never forget Psalms 91 ...
claim it as your own, personalize it for yourself ...

Gene and Pat, that dwell in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

We will say of the LORD, He is our refuge and our fortress: our God; in him will we trust.

We shall not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

Because we have made the LORD, which is our refuge, even the most High, our habitation;
There shall no evil befall us, neither shall any plague come nigh our dwelling.

Because they have set their love upon me, therefore will I deliver them:
I will set them on high, because they have known my name.
They shall call upon me, and I will answer them:
I will be with them in trouble; I will deliver them, and honour them.
With long life will I satisfy them, and shew them my salvation.

Family Fall Fish Fry & Birthday Bash 2008

Saturday evening, 10/11/08...
Wow, it seems like we only did this a little while ago ! Where does the time fly !
Hard to believe it's time for the October Waggoner Birthday Bash & Fall Family Fish Fry ...
AND it was also the BIG FIVE OH for Brother "Dawg" David ! :)
The weather was perfect, the fish was yummy, and here are some pics ...
(check out Kristal's Blog for more)

We tried to make sure he had a winter supply of Beanie Weinies, so he wouldn't have to get out in the cold too much, considering his age :)

A few other supplies... Depends, fiber bar, "silver" older person vitamins, gas relief, alka seltzer.

He signed the Official "Over 50" poster, and of course the Family Maxine Doll! He even donated quite a bit of pocket change to the "old age survival piggy bank"! All of these 50th Birthday supplies are now back in safe-keeping awaiting the next Big Five Oh :) We think that will be Brother Delbert ! :)

Pam & David taking a look at the cake before we light the candles, then dig in...

Mema & Papa "just a swangin'"

Papa grinning at one of his funny cards.
p.s. Next year the October Family Birthday will be dedicated to Papa's 80th !! :)
I told him we will expect him to Dance a Jig !!

Andrew helping Quiton with a game... no one over 18 was able to help.

Jacob brought his birthday present ... how cool is that !

Wess & Weston

Our family is "way cool" and as always we had a good time ... looking forward to Thanksgiving!

(& just a note that we missed Jack at our family get-together, he was such a good doggie, and like part of the family at least to some of us :) I may work on a blog posting of Jack photos someday, but for now I just couldn't not mention how much we miss him. Here is a video that proves just how super talented and smart he was! :) ... click to see, and it has sound ...
